Providing Love and Support
Skyline understands and believes in the importance of improving the community in which we live and work.
IT’S THIS SIMPLE
From its inception, giving back to the community has been at the core of Skyline’s purpose and mission. Demonstrating love and support of people, animals, and environment have been at the heart of Skyline. Those who are blessed want to bless those around them. It’s as simple as that. Part of being an employee at Skyline means that you get 40 hours a year paid time off to volunteer. Our employees appreciate being able to take time off during the work week to go and serve. We have a wide variety of organizations that we invest in, and our employees go and do lots of work at lots of different types of community organizations. Skyline also provides financial support to a number of those organizations
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.
OUR COMMITMENT
Our commitment to invest in the community is something that started at the very, very beginning of the organization when there were two employees. It was part of our benefits program, and it’s been that way ever since.

Our Daily Bread
Our Daily Bread is located in the Our Daily Bread Employment Center (ODBEC) and provides a hot, nutritious lunch for anyone in need every day of the year. It serves as a gateway to a wealth of other services in the facility, including legal services, health care, employment opportunities, and government benefits. Breakfast is served every weekday to the elderly and those with special needs.
Since June 1, 1981, we have never missed a day serving the hungry in Baltimore, in spite of blizzards, hurricanes, or any other occurrence.
Our Daily Bread is a place where all are welcome, where people whose lives are burdened by the hardships of the human condition are served with dignity and reverence. We serve with a passion and love for our sisters and brothers as we meet their need for food, resources, direction, and the building up of the human spirit.
Every plate comes with a warm welcome and a smile that is always worn by the volunteers who serve.

Maryland Food Bank
Our mission is to lead the movement and nurture the belief that together we can improve the lives of Marylanders by ending hunger.
The Maryland Food Bank is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization, leading the movement to end hunger throughout Maryland. For more than 35 years, the Maryland Food Bank has partnered with communities across the state to distribute food to individuals and families in need, becoming the leading anti-hunger organization in the state. Through carefully crafted programs, the food bank aims to meet the immediate needs of Marylanders while simultaneously working to find long-term ways to reduce hunger statewide. Currently distributing more than 102,000 meals per day — more than 37 million meals annually — the Maryland Food Bank will continue to expand its efforts until hunger ends.
The Maryland Food Bank operates from three facilities: one in Baltimore, one in Salisbury, and one in Hagerstown. Through our extensive network of soup kitchens, pantries, and schools, our branches distribute food across 21 counties and Baltimore City.

Senior Dog Sanctuary
The Senior Dog Sanctuary provides a permanent safe haven for senior dogs who are unable to be cared for by their owners, are abandoned or abused, or face euthanasia.
The Senior Dog Sanctuary is here to help our seasoned canine citizens find you! Our pups aren’t puppies, they are mature adults with life experience that has taught them that love is all there is, and they have plenty of it to share. We are caregivers and matchmakers, and the very fact that you’re reading this message is telling you something. Listen with your heart, read about our guys and gals, and think about how you can make a difference in your life with one of the four-legged lives we’ve rescued. If this isn’t the right time in your life for a senior dog, please pass this message along to someone you believe might be open to it. We are all in this together, so let’s help these critters together.
