POSITION SUMMARY

Project Manager needed to support portfolio of projects for the Skyline contract with the our state agency client. Projects cover various separate groups of customer stakeholders and differing client/Skyline technical teams. Candidate must have strong communications and leadership skills, able to navigate with different groups of stakeholders and technical leads, as well as keep track of critical paths and risks on various projects. Candidate must be able to figure out how to develop project plan for new initiatives. This role is not for PMs that want just one big project where the personnel never change. Position reports to Program Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

Project Manager for IT Infrastructure Engineering and Implementation projects

  • Manage client facing network and systems engineering projects ranging from fiber optic network design/upgrades, wireless design/installs, VOIP (Unified Communications), cyber security, Microsoft Exchange/AD, and Identity/Access Management projects
  • Work with program and functional managers for resource allocation and coordinate both internal Skyline IT engineers as well as Client Service Delivery teams to deliver projects
  • Follow Project Management standards from Skyline PMO, as well as customer specific PM requirements
  • Document all project artifacts in Skyline and or Client systems.
  • Gather and document client requirements
  • Set up the project in Skyline enterprise systems.
  • Lead creation of statement of works for client projects
  • Lead Project Kick-off and ongoing Meetings
  • Develop work breakdown structures, schedules, major milestone roadmaps, communication plans, test plans, change control plans, and overall project plans
  • Perform day-to-day management of assigned projects, identify issues and risks and escalate quickly to management when help needed
  • Responsible for ensuring that work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget
  • Responsible for managing project budgets and driving change orders if scope changes
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Manage creation, signing, and documentation of any necessary Change Orders to approved scope. This includes updating current systems and capturing client approvals
  • Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Perform project close out and lessons learned activities

Internal Project and Task Management and PMO Support

  • Maintain project status information in Skyline PMIS system
  • Internal PMO support
  • Help drive change to internal Skyline processes to improve project delivery
  • Self-development activities
 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • 4+ years in IT Project Management

  • PMP or some formal Project Management training preferred
