Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Development Team
- Accountable as the Content Authority of work defined in the Sprint Backlog
- Ensure the goals, scope and product domain are well understood by the Development Team
- Utilize the INVEST model when creating Product Backlog items
- Facilitate Scrum events as needed
- Sprint Planning
- Consistent Backlog Refinement
- Contribute to the Product Vision and Roadmap
- Manage and Prioritize the Flow of Work
- Define & Prioritize User Stories in the Sprint Backlog
- Accept working software/potentially shippable code from the Development team
- Streamline the tactical execution of Program/Feature priorities
- Work with the Development Team to create the Definition of Done
- Work closely with Product Management Team to understand customer needs and validate and refine Solutions
- Work closely with Product Management Team to have a shared understanding with industry trends in order to shape future of the products
- Work with Product Management Team to prepare Program Increment (PI) Planning meeting
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3 to 5 years of job-related experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position
- Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) preferred
- Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) preferred
- A strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies and iterative development
- Experience with Agile lifecycle management tools
- Understand all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, Configuration Management, quality assurance, and release management
- Experience with developing and deploying software in a rapid delivery schedule
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
- Proven ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all departments and at all levels of the organization, including senior management
